CRSS is a set of CGI scripts written in Perl with a top level HTML page for this World-Wide Web-based software, which is used at ORNL to reserve conference rooms. In addition, customized versions have been constructed to reserve government vehicles and laboratory instruments. CRRS provides a calendar-based scheduler for conference rooms through the WWW and allows Laboratory employees to schedule conference rooms without calling the person who keeps a paper log. These individuals (called RoomMasters) now have authority to override a particular schedule if need be. They can also do multiple day scheduling using the CRRS.

5. METHOD OF SOLUTION

A top level HTML page is the access into the system. Then a series of perl scripts are used to allow the user to reserve a conference room, browse the list of room reservations, or cancel a reservation. Tools are also provided to allow RoomMasters to add conference rooms to the system and to control email notices. The room search capability has been included, but this feature has not been extensively developed.
